I didn't really think about it much, I just assumed it was more issues with hormonal breakouts. Then, I realized I had more texture and breakouts than normal. I still preferred my dewy foundations, but as far as foundations with matte finishes went, this was one of the best I'd tried, personally. It's affordable, cruelty free and honestly performed as well as the higher end foundations. It'll start to break up and look slightly cakey on me after 6 hours, which is typical when I wear most normal foundations that have a more matte finish, no matter what I do.Īt first, I really fell in love with this foundation. Around the 4 hour mark is when this happens. Once it dries, I don't find that it sinks into my pores or fine lines immediately, but throughout the day it will start to. I'm not the biggest fan of full coverage foundations, though because I don't like how they feel. I prefer not to layer it because it does get cakey and heavy quickly and I hate that. This is a medium coverage and I can layer it but the second layer needs to be very thin. Oily skin would probably still want to set it. I don't think it would need powdered on normal skin either as it dries to a powder finish. This dries down pretty quickly and doesn't need powdered on my dry skin. I notice it stays put for about 6-7 hours before it starts to fade.I prefer to apply this with a beauty blender, and since it dries to a demi-matte finish, I like to use a dewy primer underneath. This is the foundation I often reach for when I go to work and usually wear it from 8AM until I decide to wash my face - usually before bed. It doesn’t have any patchiness to it and does what I expect a light to medium coverage foundation to do. Photo Focus applies really smooth and evenly. I prefer to apply this with my Eco Tools Sponge or my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. Like I mentioned, do have combo skin with an oily T-Zone but this didn’t give me any more shine than what I expected. If you do have oily skin, I recommend using a good powder on top. This one doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin at all. There’s something about drugstore foundations that tend to break me out which is why I rarely used them until a couple years ago. It’s more of a light to medium coverage foundation but can be built to a medium coverage. I may get a couple of them just to see how they compare to the two shades I already have.Ĭonsidering I’ve been using this for over a year now, you probably guessed I really enjoy this foundation.and I do! It’s lightweight and really does feel and like a “your skin but better” type of finish. I personally have never seen all the ones in between when I went to purchase them - usually through Walgreens or Walmart. Golden Beige is the 9th shade in and Desert Beige is the 13th shade in. I have medium skin with a warm/golden undertone and the shades that match me are Honey Beige during colder months and Desert Beige during warmer months. I haven’t seen all 20 in store before but if you look at them online, you can get an idea of the range. The price is under $10 for 1 fluid ounce depending on where you purchase it. This foundation can be found in almost all drug stores, Walmart and online through Wet N Wild and Ulta. Foundations I use during the Spring and Summer will not always be ones I prefer during Fall and Winter. I am VERY picky when it comes to foundation, mainly because I have sensitive skin and it changes by season. In fact, I just purchased my 2nd bottle of it a few days ago! Wet N Wild’s Photo Focus Foundation is a one I’ve been using consistently for quite some time, a little over a year now.
